For seven years, I’ve been under the tutelage of Shikha Aunty, perfecting my art skills through a variety of mediums including color pencil and sketching. But I fell in love with acrylic painting through this journey, as I was encouraged to paint a variety of subject matter, such as animals, landscapes and still life. Each piece taught me how to improve my markmaking, explore color, and view images through a different lens.
I’ve developed an artist’s signature, carrying this passion towards my other artistic endeavors, such as being an Advanced Placement art student, accepted into the Texas Visual Arts Exhibit, awardee of the silver Scholastic Art and Writing medal, and a consistent high scorer of VASE, Texas’ most renowned high school art competition.
From the lessons I learned at Crimson Palette, I was able to be focused and consistent with my style, encouraging others to do the same by being an active member of my school's Art Honors society as an officer and participating in charitable art organizations. As a person, art is an irreplaceable aspect of my life, defining my work ethic and encouraging me to be a creative thinker, not just viewing the world black and white. I hope to carry this passion into my future as an engineer, unafraid to view things abstract. I’m eternally grateful for my years at Crimson Palette, which shaped me as a passionate lifelong artist.
