Keerthana \| 12 Years \| Oct 2023 Bald eagle My experience through this painting of an eagle was amazing. I had so much fun painting this. And I love how it turned out. The hardest part was painting the feathers. I can't wait to make more animal paintings like this in the future.	Aditi \| Golden Eagle \| Oct 2023 This one really surprised me. When you give an elementary school kid free reins on color choice for a duck, you are going to be surprised. Aditi broke away from the norm and painted a golden duck. The brilliance in this painting lies in the way that she painted the sky and the water. She created a sunset scene in an unconventional but cohesive color choice.	Akriti \| Puppy \| Oct 2023 I drew my puppy Clover. It took me a very long time. I used Raw Sienna color to paint this. The sky is blue and I painted grass. Clover is a Cavapoo and Cavapoos are a shade of Sandy and white color. He is really cute. I think this is my best painting. Ms. Shikha Aunty is really proud of me and so am I.
Rithu (15yrs) \| Oct 2023 Snow house My painting demonstrates my love for landscape painting. I wanted to add a twist and make it winter themed, with a realistic cabin adding a cozy look. I loved making the mountains and the trees since they carry the paintings’ outdoor aesthetic.	Vaishnavi (10yrs) \| Oct 2023 Leopard The leopard was very hard and very interesting. We had to try many things to get it right. We had to change the structure and color a lot. In the end it turned out so good.	Vaishnavi (10yrs), May 2023 This is a horse painting. On the horse, it took so much blending. It slowly became better. The hardest part was the eye. I love this painting so much.

It has trees in the background. There is a baby and mother koala. The koala is like a cartoon but the background is realistic.	Maahi (8 yrs), May 2023 This is a squirrel and it is a very fun squirrel. My favorite part was signing my name because I got to see it finished. The hardest part was the eyes and the easiest part was the tree leaves. And my favorite part of it is the squirrel.

Kaashvi (11yrs), May 2023 I like doing this painting because it was very hard. It took a long time and especially the eyes and the background. I redid the eyes six times before I got it right. Overall this painting went through some rough phases but I love how it turned out in the end.	Anushri, April 2023 This elephant took sweat and tears. I struggled lots and even Shiikha aunty was relieved when I finished it. “I will be losing my marbles next week if you still haven’t finished it.”, said Shikha Aunty. This shows the struggle and stress for all by this one painting. “It’s one of the hardest ones and the fact that you picked it was really amazing and finishing it was a big deal,” said Shikha aunty. My classmates thought it was nice and I agree.	Norah, April 2023 This is a stack of teacups on a table. The background is a solid color. Overall, the painting was fun and very stress free. The hardest part of the painting was bringing the 3D aspect on to the painting. That took a while, and slowly it started looking better and better.
Akansh (13yrs), April 2023 I really like how the water turned out in this painting. It really looks like actual waves.The whale itself was more difficult but it also turned out well. Latha, Snowman. March 2023 Latha is the newest member of the Crimson Palette family. This is her first painting :) This painting of a snowman is a great experience for me. This is the first painting that I have ever made. This gave me a perspective of mixing colors and making different types of brush strokes. Also, while I was painting, I totally forgot about the time and place and was completely involved in the painting. It’s a real stress reliever for me to paint. At the same time, the guidance received from Ms. Shikha.	Rithu \| 15 Years \| February 2023 The piece depicts a vase holding an arrangement of flowers painted in an abstract manner. I also added a sense of realism through the glasses reflection and the overlapping of stems. The artwork’s purpose is to interact with the viewer through bursts of color and 3D like figures..	Akansh \| 11 years \| February 2023 Eagle overlooking SanFrancisco This painting was very interesting. Most of my previous paintings centered around one theme. This one had so much activity. It had tree covered hills, a crescent moon and a bird. Most other paintings had just one.

Kaashvi \| 11 Years \| February 2023 This painting was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. I liked this painting because there are a lot of details. The painting took about three weeks to finish but it was worth it.	Akriti \| 9 Years \| February 2023 My painting shows a lighthouse in the ocean under the starry night.I got inspired to paint this painting by Van Gogh.
Kriti \| 10 Years \| January 2023 This was a very unusual painting to do because there are not many Jack and the Beanstalk paintings. I wanted to do this specific painting because it is different from me. At first I wasn’t a big fan of the sky but once I added the details like Jack and the Beanstalk it all came together. This was an amazing painting to do. But it took a lot longer than I expected.	Vaishnavi \| 8 Years \| January 2023 My painting has a garden meadow and a small river. It was a beautiful painting. This painting is based on Starry Night.	Maahi \| January 2023 \| 7 Years Haunted House It was a very fun painting because I spent a lot of my time on it and I really like it.
Arshia \| January 2023 The anatomy of an oil painting. We start with making just a simple sketch of the picture that we want to paint. After that, we continue with blocking in (painting areas that are in shadow) , using only basic colors. This process helps us to see the depth on the canvas and at the same time, emphasize light areas. The next step is to apply thin layers of paint upon the canvas. When the paint is on the canvas, it becomes more transparent, and so we adjust the colors and tones as we see fit.	Vaishnavi \| 9 years \| Orange Today I finished a hard painting because it has shading and glares. It looks more realistic already. I have never done fruit before. It was my fun kind of painting. Yashu \| 6 Years \| November 2022 I like it beecus its my fafrite food. It wus lit bit hard.	Maahi \| 7 years \| November 2022 In the ice cream, I did not like the cherry on top at all. But then I made it sink in the ice cream and so in the end I really liked it.	Kriti \| 10 years \| November 2022 This was a very delicious painting to do. At first, I really loved it. Then I didn’t. And now I love it. It took a long time but it turned out amazing.
Anushri \| 12 years \| Drinks \| Nov 2022 Shikha aunty once said “I love it! It was a big leap for you!!!” I’m glad that she thinks so and I feel the same way. It was wonderful. I think.. I feel like I’m over complimenting myself. It was great.	Kaashvi \| November 2022 This painting was very fun and eventful. I liked that the colors of the macaroons were the colors of the galaxy. In the end I enjoyed this painting a lot.	Rithu \| 15 Years \| A city - Attempts at realism This painting definitely brought me an assortment of challenges yet moments of pride because of the detail, tones and attempts at realism.When painting this, I wanted the viewer to feel as if they want to transport themselves into this dreamland of color and calmness with a vintage theme, as I have been heavily inspired by French and other European styles of traditional architecture. Overall the painting makes me feel free and excited with its bold palette.
Kriti \| 9 years \| September 2022 This painting was a very fun painting to do. I think it turned out amazing. The colors compliment each other very nicely and the colors blend perfectly. This was a hard painting but it was fun.	Akansh \| October 2022 The conflict behind the decisions made in the painting are innumerable.In the beginning the color coating on the canvas was too bright. It was changed as the months went by. Once the base coat dried, we debated over the colors in the painting and repainted with each passing day until it was less about the color and more about the details. Trees were made as well as foliage was added. Then the debate of people arose.	Arav Eggs are difficult to paint for even the most experienced artists. Arav attempts this at the tender age of 13. The hardest part is painting the egg whites. It’s hard to show texture and shading when you are working with white color. Here we show the progression of the painting.
Savera \| 10 years \| August 2022 This was a quick study. Savera finished this painting in two hours which is a very short time to spend on an acrylic painting of this size for a young student. She was able to master the drawing and paint it in one shot. There were no do overs or corrections made. An amazing effort by 10yr old Savera. It took me a long time and lots of hard work but I am proud of this big canvas!!! :) “ - Anushri One of my classmates once said “It was good!” I think so too. It is one of those cupcakes that have an unusual, but delicious frosting.
Saanvi \| 9 Years \| June 2022 Saanvi is one of the youngest students in the class. One point perspective drawing is a challenging concept for anyone, but Saanvi has done a wonderful job of learning his concept and creating a painting.	Anushri \| 11 years \| May 2022 Another painting of a house in one point perspective. This is the first time that Anushri has handled a canvas of this size. Drawing on a larger scale is more challenging. A bigger canvas also means that one has to put more details into the painting.	Vaishnavi \| 8 Years \| April 2022 This project included learning to draw animals realistically. We worked on pencil sketches, color pencil studies and then moved to creating paintings of birds and monkeys.
Neel, 13 Years \| March 2022 Neel is a boy of few words. He speaks through his work, and his still life painting of a pear is the perfect three dimensional representation on a two dimensional surface. “Interesting! Drawing the painting was very interesting.”	Gia, 12 Years \| February 2022 Gia has created a monochromatic painting of the mountains. She used white and Payne’s grey colors to create different tones to show dimension and shadows. This is an extremely challenging method of painting and has been handled beautifully by Gia. “I wanted to do something different. I have never done anything like this and it was difficult because it was hard to do the mountains and make them look good.”	Rithu K. My Nameplate, March 2018 The directive was to create a pencil drawing using your name. The drawing had to represent our personality and individuality. Rithu (10yrs) gives us a colorful insight into her very full and very interesting persona.
